Fight to overturn the verdict – Fight sexism and for a system change

The 19-year-old woman who reported being brutally gang-raped last July in Agia Napa, Cyprus, was found guilty. Guilty of daring to report a rape and asking the police to investigate it.
Το άρθρο “Ημέρα της Γυναίκας” της Αλεξάντρα Κολοντάι, κυκλοφόρησε για πρώτη φορά στην εφημερίδα Πράβντα, μια εβδομάδα πρίν τον πρώτο μόλις εορτασμό της ημέρας της Διεθνούς Αλληλεγγύης στο Γυναικείο Προλεταριάτο στις 23 του Φλεβάρη του 1913 (8 Μάρτη με το νέο ημερολόγιο) στη Ρωσία. Στην Αγία Πετρούπολη η μέρα αυτή σημαδεύτηκε από το κάλεσμα για μια εκστρατεία ενάντια στην έλλειψη πολιτικών και οικονομικών δικαιωμάτων των εργατριών, για την ενότητα της εργατικής τάξης και για τη δημιουργία συνείδησης μέσα στις γυναίκες εργάτριες.

The article ‘Women’s Day’ by Alexandra Kollontai was published in the newspaper Pravda one week before the first-ever celebration in Russia of the Day of International Solidarity among the Female Proletariat on 23 February (8 March), 1913. In St Petersburg this day was marked by a call for a campaign against women workers’ lack of economic and political rights, for the unity of the working class, and for the awakening of self-consciousness among women workers.
Today, more than 100 years after it was first published the article of Kollontai is still up to date.
